Hi, new to this forum and looking for some help. Looking at possibly buying a 86 Honda Fourtrax 350 4x4 for 1200.00.
pros - comes with a manual plow, excellent tread on tires, brakes and tune up just done recently and has repair manual
cons - age, don't know how much mileage, parts hard to come by?, couple cracks in plastics
Is 1200.00 a fair price?
any help would be great
thanks

Post some pictures. If it doesn't smoke, runs well, and everything works, then it's a great price for a great machine. The cracks can be fixed by drilling holes on each side of the crack and using tie-wraps to pull it back together. Works great.
The age is a factor for getting parts, but they are great quads and it's a good price if everything is working right.

Welcome to the forums. Also, it's a 5-speed with auto clutch, so there's no manual clutch to operate. Just put it in gear and go and let off the throttle when shifting gears.

thats in nice shape juding from the pictures. good price but you have to factor in that its not getting any newer and as each day goes by it gets harder and harder to find parts for them. just my 2 cents dont let that sway your decision. great looking old tank

Yes, that's my main concern, not able 2 find parts if needed down the road. The person selling it won't budge on the price either. thanks for the replies

i wouldnt worry about parts idk why people say parts are hard to find i sure dont have a hard time finding parts bikes and alot of parts... my dad has one with 27" itp tires and i love the thing its a tank and will go through anything... if motor sounds good no knocking no smoke, no shifting problems, suspension good etc then its a great deal they sell for usually $2000+

Parts are hard to find at the dealer. If you want to try to find parts surplus, they will come up from time to time, but new parts are not easy to find for this machine. Its not a reason to not buy the bike, necessarily, but I wouldn't tell someone just starting to look at this year machine that they can walk into the dealer and get any part they want, because they can't.
Don't mislead the man...parts are hard to find.

I have an 85 FourTrax 250, have not run into any promlems yet finding parts, but then again I have not looked for to many parts yet. If its anything like my ATV, you will love it they don`t make them like that any more...
