Updated engines, lights and trim for Citroen C4 hatchback
19 Feb 2015
The new Citroen C4 is available to order now and its maker has released full prices and specifications, confirming the car starts at £14,645.
The outside of the car doesn't look hugely different to the outgoing C4, with changes limited to new front and rear lights. The car will also be available in two new shades of grey paint and the new C4 range will also benefit from a new 17-inch alloy wheel design.
C4 buyers have a choice between five engines - two petrols and three diesels. The most economical petrol is the 108bhp PureTech, which will do 60mpg while emitting 110g/km of CO2. A more powerful, less economical 128bhp petrol is the alternative petrol option.
Diesel buyers can opt for the extremely frugal 99bhp BlueHDi diesel with stop/start technology, which is capable of an impressive 85.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 86g/km. The other two diesel choices are 118bhp and 148bhp engines.
The new Citroen C4 is available in three trim levels called Touch, Feel and Flair. Touch is the entry-level specification and features 16-inch steel wheels, electric wing mirrors, air-conditioning and cruise control. The cheapest C4 model is the 108bhp petrol in Touch trim, which costs £14,645. In the same trim, the 99bhp diesel is £16,745.
Mid-range Feel models offer extras like alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel, digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity and are around £2,000 more than Touch models.
Range-topping Flair cars are the most luxurious and feature extras like tinted rear windows, fog lights, rear parking sensors and a seven-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The C4 in Flair trim starts at £17,645 for the entry-level petrol, rising to £20,045 for the most powerful diesel.
Options include some new upholstery designs, as well as massage seats and a large panoramic sunroof. The new C4's dimensions are no different to the previous version, so bootspace remains unchanged at a useful 408 litres.
